Recently I visited with the sales office  at Makali’i at Wailea to get an update on their timetable and activity.  I was intrigued as this luxury project will have a distinctively different design-floor to ceiling windows to frame your views on a open floor plan design. Contemporary Hawaiian with Mid Century Influence.

Makali’i is the name of a constellation (The Pleiades) that early Polynesian pioneer’s explorers used to guide their travel as they searched for new land. This is the  inspiration behind the development of this property. The property is located on Kaukahi St. South side of Kaukahi as you head towards Mulligans on the Blue Pub and Restaurant and surrounded by Wailea Blue Golf Course. You will also have Wailea Community dues apply since this is in the Wailea Community.

Why Mid-Century Modern Design? When you trace back this period it is the time of early statehood of Hawai’i. A period rooted in “hope, confidence and belief  in a better future with boundless potential” according to the PR of Makali’i. This is a nice departure of the building trends on Maui.
